Upcycled Denim Tablet Case

When my parents came to visit me in May, they gave me their ViewSonic tablet that my dad got as a retirement gift from his colleagues. But they didn't have a case for it, so i decided i would make a nice case to put this treasured piece in.

I am using some old jeans my hubby doesn't wear anymore, and it happened to be Calvin Klein, so it's even better hahaha

I already had the jeans cut up before for another project, so i am using what's left

i cut the right side of the top of the jeans

Here, i am quilting the lining with batting together

sewed the denim piece together

the lining is done

I am using the buttoned waist band as closure

sewed the button onto the front of the case

sewed loops on the sides because i wanted to make this case into a little purse as well

sewed the button hole piece on to the back of the case

sewed the lining to the case, i wanted it to stick out (it wasnt a mistake) because i like the cherry fabric and wanted the case to have a little bit of color

there you have it, a case for a tablet.  the finished product is 12 inches by 8 inches

front

back, with the calvin klein leather tag lol

the pockets are functional as well

the pockets are functional as well

add a strap to it, then you will have a cross body purse!

    1. Thank you Rhondda. I wanted to make a case that I can use as a purse so I don't have to take a huge purse, like when I m at the car shop, all I would need are keys wallet that I can stick them in the pockets of this case :)

    1. thank you Pam, i guess u can call me frugal but i don't like having to buy alot of notions for my upcycling projects, i mean it kinda defeats the purpose of recycling right? so i just have to use whatever i can imagine! LOL
