I have recently picked up gun shooting, but we don't have any case for our rifle or shotgun, so i decided to use those old BDU's my friend gave me to make cases for them.
i pretty much cut the pants in half at the crotch, sewed them up at the opening. then i made the inside with one lining and one velvet fabric with batting inside. then just put the fluffy inside the leg, and sewed the handles on.
the big picture of the case. the longer strap is for shoulder, shorter one for hand.
the inside with velvet and batting, to protect the gun from scratches.
lots of pockets to put bullets in
the bottom which already had the draw string, so convenient.
Put a ribbon through the belt loops to tie the opening closed.
If u don't have these military pants, can also use cargo pants your husband or sons don't want anymore! :)

thank you again Susan! the inside can be removed from the outer case too, makes it easy to wash. plus this is also long enough for golf clubs for when hubby wants to just take a couple to the driving range. :)

They are highgly waterproof and unbreakable. I have seen cases which are suitable for elite shooters. They don't necessarily offer the most aesthetically pleasing features like an aluminum case however they are made to perform in the most wet, harsh, and military extreme conditions.
